HP webOS event scheduled for Feb 9 in SF
HP on Tuesday sent out invitations for a special press event on February 9. The San Francisco meeting was only described as an "exciting webOS announcement" and hinted that there might be "big" and "small" hardware. The gathering is the first in two years from the Palm team to have gone outside of CES.
What will be unveiled isn't certain but will most likely involve the Topaz, sometimes known as the PalmPad. The device may have a roughly 10-inch display, dual cameras and even possibly USB 3.0 ports, although these haven't been confirmed. HP is known to have embraced the Topaz after giving up on marketing the Windows 7-based Slate 500 for home use.
Also possible are the Pixi 2 and other devices that have been codenamed recently, such as the Broadway and Manta.
