HTC Thunderbolt and Inspire 4G appear
A new ad discovered in the latest issue of Rolling Stone has shown not just the HTC Thunderbolt but a new unidentified AT&T phone. The Inspire 4G would be specific to the carrier and, like the Thunderbolt, resembles a Desire HD. Its badge as seen by Android Central implied LTE, though AT&T is more likely to use HSPA+ in the short term and may be taking a cue from T-Mobile's marketing.
What little is shown gives few clues, but the similarity implies a 1GHz Snapdragon, Android 2.2 and an eight-megapixel camera. HSPA+ would let it reach 21Mbps peak speeds for downloads.
The timing of the ad implied that both the Thunderbolt and the Inspire 4G could be unveiled at CES. The Thunderbolt is certain for Verizon and may be shown at its Thursday keynote, but neither AT&T nor HTC has a separate event and may show their devices independently, if at all, at the Las Vegas expo.
