Routers feature 802.11 b/g/n, WPA, WEP security

Netgear has launched four new wireless routers ahead of CES today. The networking company has launched four gigabit-capable wireless routers, one with ADSL modem support and one a power-line router. The power line model, the N300 Wireless Router with Powerline AV combines 200Mbps networking over home power lines with wireless 802.11n networking and three standard 100Mbps Ethernet ports.

The N600 Wireless Dual-Band Gigabit ADSL Modem Router combines an ADSL modem with four Gigabit-ethernet ports, two USB ports for networked storage and wireless 802.11 a/b/g/n over 2.4GHz or 5.0GHz bands. The router also has a WAN in port to support a cable modem or fiber network if ADSL is unavailable. It supports DLNA media serving and features a broadband usage meter.

The N600 Dual-Band Wireless Gigabit Router - Premium Edition combines four-port Gigabit Ethernet and wireless 802.11 a/b/g/n networking over 2.4GHz or 5.0GHz bands. It supports adding a networked drive or shared printer over USB. The router offers TiVo expanded storage, Apple Time Machine and DLNA streaming media support and a broadband usage meter.

The N750 Wireless Dual-Band Gigabit Router maxes out speeds on the 5GHz channel to 450Mbps for applications like HD video streaming and online gaming. It offers dual band wireless -- 802.11 a/b/g/n on simultaneous 2.4GHz and 5.0GHz bands -- and four Ethernet ports running Gigabit speeds. It also has a USB port for sharing networked storage and a broadband usage meter.

All four routers offer double firewall protection, with SPI and NAT firewalls, Denial of Service attack prevention and protected access security over WPA/WPA2-PSK or WEP. The Powerline AV ships first, due later this month for $120. The N750 ships in the first quarter of 2011 for $180 and the N600 Premium and ADSL routers ship in the second quarter of 2011 for $180 and $200 respectively.
