Device still focused on Flash Lite apps
Confirming a number of recent rumors, Chumby has officially unveiled a new version of its Internet device. The Chumby 8 features a larger eight-inch resistive touchscreen with 800x600 resolution, more than doubling the screen size from its predecessor. The form has also changed from a cube to a thinner design resembling a photo frame.
The new Chumby also features an improved interface with music content available directly from the home screen, while users can set the alarm to play streaming content from Internet stations. Other hardware features include CF and SD slots, USB ports, a headphone jack, and speakers built into the sides of the housing.
Like the original Chumby, the new model retains a focus on Flash Lite widgets and apps such as Pandora, games, news, and a wide range of other content.
Pricing and launch information has yet to be announced. [via Engadget]
