FujiFilm announced five new FinePix S-Series cameras at CES2011, the FinePix S3200, S3300, S3400, S4000, and S2950. All five cameras have 14-megapixel CCDs, Fujinon electric zoom lenses, 3-inch preview displays, and mini-HDMI ports. They take stills at 1080p HD resolution, and record 720p HD video at 30fps. The differences between the models are the length of the zoom and resolution of the LCD viewscreen. The S4000 is the best of the bunch with 30x optical zoom and a 460K-pixel LCD.
The S3400 has the same LCD, but a 28x optical zoom lens. The LCD on the S3300 and S3200 has 230K-pixel resolution. They have 26x and 24x optical zoom respectively. The S2950 offers a Fujinon 18x optical zoom lens.
All five cameras store images on SD/SDHC memory cards, and are powered by four AA batteries.
The FinePix S2950 will all be available in January 2011 and will be priced at $230. FinePix S3200 ships in February 2011 and will retail for $250. The FinePix S4000 will be available in March 2011 and cost $280.
