T-Mobile confirms LG G-Slate tablet

T-Mobile tonight confirmed its plans for tablets this year by unveiling its first. The G-Slate will be LG's North American adaptation of its tablet, likely called the Optimus Pad elsewhere. Officially, it would only say that the device used Android 3.0 and that it would take advantage of T-Mobile's 21Mbps HSPA+ data speeds.

If the same as the Optimus Pad, it would have an NVIDIA Tegra 2 inside as well as front and back cameras. The use of Android 3.0 should give it Gtalk-based video chat built-in as well as access to Google's bookstore.

The G-Slate has been discussed early and won't ship for the next few months.
