Haier reveals new net connected TV line

Also announces new iPad, iPhone, iPod sound bars


Haier has revealed its new line of Internet connected TVs, highlighting a notable trend in televisions launched at CES this year. With built-in Wi-Fi capabilities, the new TVs can wirelessly connect to the Internet to stream movies, music and other entertainment. During their CES announcement, Haier outlined their new partnership with Yahoo! Connected TV. The service delivers access to over 50,000 TV shows and movies on demand. Through the partnership, Haier TVs can now run Yahoo! Connected TV apps including Amazon VOD, Facebook, Twitter, CBS, Showtime, NBC, eBay, YouTube, Pandora and Flickr among others.

The Haier net connected products will also include Netflix. Buttons featuring the Netflix icon will be situated on the accompanying remote controls that operate Haier’s new Blu-ray players. Additionally, later this year, Haier connected devices will also offer the Hulu Plus $8 subscription service.

Also announced s a new range of Haier iPad, iPhone and iPod compatible 3D sound bars powered by Sonic Emotion technology.

Pricing and availability is yet to be confirmed.
