Logitech Squeezebox adds Spotify in Europe

Logitech on Monday gave its Squeezebox line support for Spotify music. Both the Radio and Touch versions will stream the unlimited music service without needing a computer, including playlists. It should keep the 320Kbps bitrate but, due to the nature of the Squeezebox, won't handle offline caching.

A beta app is available for Squeezebox listeners effective today for every country where Spotify operates, such as France, Sweden and the UK. Logitech hasn't yet said when a final version will emerge. A US release is delayed due to the music startup's troubles getting licensing deals for American tracks.
