Launch expected next month

Samsung's successor to the Galaxy S handset, said to be named the Galaxy S2, has allegedly surface in leaked renderings. The images, posted on the Korean newspaper ETnews, show a 4.3-inch display that reportedly uses the same Super AMOLED Plus technology as the company's Infuse 4G handset, which made its formal debut last week at CES.

Other rumored specs include a dual-core processor, near-field communication (NFC) chip, and Android 2.3. It is unclear if the rendered image is an actual leak or simply a mock-up of what the device is expected to look like, though the specs are said to be reasonable expectations.

The successor to the Galaxy S is expected to be formally unveiled next month at Mobile World Congress in Barcelona. [via Boy Genius Report]
