Fujifilm X100 up for preorder at $1,199
Fujifilm's retro-styled FinePix X100 digital camera can now be pre-ordered at Adorama. When it will ship exactly hasn't been revealed, but the pseudo-rangefinder should cost $1,199. The 12.3-megapixel camera is styled after those from the 1950s and is meant for professionals who want to capture high-quality macros and landscapes.
It uses an APS-C-sized CMOS sensor and Fujifilm's EXR technology. Despite the appearance, the 23mm, f2 prime lens cannot be changed. The hybrid viewfinder switches between optical and electronic views. The electronic screen can overlay data over the optical viewfinder's view.
The camera's appearance on Adorama confirms earlier expectations that the X100 will ship early in 2011. [via CrunchGear]

I don't get it
$1200 for a fixed lens camera? Just because it looks like a rangefinder. And 23mm isn't even all that wide on APS-C.
