Kenwood revives MP3 players with new Media Keg

Support MP3, WMA and AAC audio files


Kenwood Japan has revived its Media Keg line of personal media players. Renowned for their high quality audio, it has been some time since it has launched a new Media Keg model. The latest addition to the Kenwood Media Keg fold is the MG-G508, which comes in a five colors choices.

The new MP3 player comes with 8GB of built-in memory and supports MP3 files with CBR of VBR of up to 320kbps. It will also support WMA with a CBR of 320kbps or a VBR of 355kbps and the more recent AAC format favored by Apple’s iTunes service at up to 320kbps.

Highlighting its music playback quality-first philosophy, the Kenwood MG-G508 will support JPEG and BMP files, but not video playback. The device weighs in at just 45grams and will ship in English language, Chinese and Japanese versions.

US availability and pricing has not yet been detailed.
