Dell's Venue Pro defects remaining unresolved?

Users still report the same problems

Although Dell has already resumed shipping its Venue Pro handsets, the company may not have fully resolved the defects that plagued the first run. The primary issue, which appears to affect the 16GB variant, causes the phone to freeze when the user is attempting to download large apps from the Windows Phone Marketplace.

One user reports that a replacement device showed the same problem as the defective handset, despite arriving nearly three weeks later than the promised date, according to a post on Pocketnow. Running other Windows Phone 7 handsets, even the 8GB Venue Pro, does not appear to cause the same problems.

A recent Twitter post suggests Dell is working on an official fix that will arrive in the form of a software update addressing "DVP memory and other issues," though the company has yet to pin down a specific release date.
