Art Lebedev hints Optimus mini six in works
Art Lebedev followed a long silence on new hardware with word on Saturaday night that it was working on a new companion keyboard for this year. The Optimus mini six would, as implied, be a keyboard-side companion like the mini three but with twice as many keys. Few other details are ready, but it will use the same more efficient in-key screens of the Optimus Popularis.
Launch timing hasn't been narrowed down so far. The full-size Popularis keyboard had been planned to ship by the end of 2010 but was delayed by the "recent financial crisis," Art Lebedev said. The Russian design studio now considers the mini six a forerunner and will ship it ahead of the more ambitious Popularis sometime in 2011.
