NVIDIA gears up Tegra 2 3D chip, may be G-Slate candidate

NVIDIA Tegra 2 3D tipped for MWC at 1.2GHz

A new Tegra next month may be a 3D-capable spin on existing hardware. The Tegra 2 3D would speed up from 1GHz to 1.2GHz and add the necessary 3D output support. TechEye's slide shows separate A25 and T25 versions destined for phones and tablets, but both could reach up to 5,520MIPS at full speed.

Customers haven't been named, but the timing is such that it could be used for the LG G-Slate. Video and other images of the tablet have pointed to the Android 3.0 tablet having both dual back cameras to record stereoscopic 3D and possibly a glasses-free 3D display . Using the Tegra 2 3D could give it the added performance to drive 3D without having to break support for the new OS or change the design of the 8.9-inch tablet.

The AP25 and T25 are only listed in the slide as arriving "spring 2011," but an NVIDIA demo is informally expected at Mobile World Congress in mid-February and could come hand in hand with the G-Slate's formal reveal. T-Mobile USA is so far known to be the first candidate for LG's device and could have it as soon as March.

NVIDIA the leader in 3D Technology. Can we say you are the 3DGlobalNetwork of 3D Products.
That would be a great 3D Domain for your company.
