LG Optimus 3D listed, teased for MWC debut
LG may back up its G-Slate with a matching smartphone. The company has sent out teasers for an event at Mobile World Congress next month which shows a mystery smartphone that would go "into the new dimension." Little detail is evident other than that it would be part of the Optimus line and superficially resembles the Optimus 2X and Black.
The naming has been supported by a brief listing (since pulled) for an LG Optimus 3D at the Dutch reseller Phone House. It used only placeholder graphics and text but suggested the company had been made aware of the 3D plans ahead of time.
The design is likely to be an upgraded version of the 2X and Black and could have a Tegra 2 3D processor inside, much as with the G-Slate. Both could likewise share dual back cameras for 3D and a glasses-free 3D display to see resulting photos and videos. A four-inch LCD, an eight-megapixel camera and Android 2.2 may come along as well if the devices are similar. [via fonearena and All About Phones]
