Motorola says Atrix and Droid Bionic still on time
Motorola on Wednesday night denied rumors of Droid Bionic power issues. After being contacted by Electronista, company spokeswoman Juli Burda said directly that there was 'no overheating' problem with either the Bionic or the Atrix 4G. Both phones would ship "as scheduled," she said.
The initial claims, at least one of which came from a reported Motorola insider who had been accurate in the past, alleged that the power management unit was flawed and was triggering not just heat but reception and phone startup problems. They were also skeptical the problems could be fixed, although it's rare that a company would either ship with a known major flaw or have no way of replacing a flawed part.
Both phones are due to ship relatively soon, possibly as soon as March 1 for the Atrix, and might have faced delays if they were truly broken so close to release.
