Apple Germany briefly teases white iPhone 4

Apple Germany inadvertently spurred on talk of the white iPhone 4's arrival with a brief appearance on the country's iPhone comparison page. Although it only appeared for a few minutes, the site showed a version of the page with colors once again a category and the iPhone 4 available in white. The move was unusual as Apple had previously had every country page revert to advertising black only and not even mentioning color being available.

It remains possible that the page update may have been the accidental use of older web code, although that may be less likely given recent events. White iPhone 4 models recently showed in Vodafone Germany's inventory system and was joined by an AT&T reference just five days later.

The white iPhone 4 was originally to have been available day-and-date with the black model's launch but was pushed back multiple times until Apple moved it to spring 2011 and took most references to it offline. Its absence has been blamed on an inconsistent coloring technique that may have been solved by a Japanese firm. [via MobileCrunch]
