Samsung-made Sidekick 4G spotted with front cam
The T-Mobile Sidekick 4G that's been confirmed as coming by the carrier's CEO has now showed up in photos, thanks to TMoNews. The device is now known to sport a front-facing camera and will be manufactured by Samsung, idenitified by the logo on the rear of the device. The original Sidekick's slider form factor is still intact.
Its 4G name points to HSPA+ support and could make it unusually fast on 3G for its target audience.
The device will run on Android 2.2.1, though what the undoubtedly due custom skin overlaid atop it will look like remains to be seen. The original Sidekick won over many through its messaging-friendly design and cloud backup that usually kept contacts and other details safe even if the phone was lost.
The device is expected to arrive at the carrier soon, with spring a very likely release window.
