Bloggie Touch cameras get Mac software

Sony recently released a software update for its Bloggie Touch HD cameras that will finally allow users to easily manage and upload their photos and videos. The software can be downloaded from Sony's support site and lets users quickly upload content to sites such as Flickr, Picasa, Personal Space, YouTube and Facebook. Before, Mac users had to manually transfer files onto their Macs by clicking and dragging before having to upload to each site manually.

The software is available for the currently shipping MHS-TS10, MHS-TS20 and MHS-TS20K models, and when the new Bloggie Entry MHS-FS1, Bloggie Duo MHS-FS2 and Bloggie MHS-FS3 arrive, they will have the Mac-compatible software preloaded.

The Bloggie Touch shoots 1080p video and 12.8-megapixel still images and has either 4 or 8GB of built-in memory. Prices start at $180.

    digital camcorder review

The Gadget Show recently ran a test report on three pocketcams. The Flip was dismissed as bulky and difficult to use. The Kodak did well because it was fast. The Samsung had optical zoom and autofocus, but it was slow otherwise. In the end, though, the image quality of all three deserved a four-letter word. It's one thing to shoot footage, but it's an utter waste of time if the resulting video is unwatchable. I have a Toshiba pocketcam, but I hate it. I've kept it as my junk camcorder, the one I stuff into a freezer bag to take photos under water, or tape to the kid's go-kart to get good crash footage.
