Verizon outs Mac driver for Pantech 4G modem

The 4G LTE-capable Pantech UML290 USB modem introduced at the start of December for Verizon has just received a driver that would make it Mac-compatible. Available on the carrier's support page, the software marks the first time Mac users will get access to Verizon's LTE network. The LG VL600 modem introduced alongside the Pantech device doesn't yet offer a Mac driver.

Both modems are now available, however, priced at $100 after a $50 rebate and a two-year contract.

An upcoming USB modem from Novatel, the USB551L, will have Mac support out of the box when it ships at an undisclosed, but nearby date.
