Design confirms front-facing camera

While News Corp was focusing everyone's attention on its latest iPad app, The Daily, at least one observant attendee reportedly happened to catch a glimpse of a prototype iPad. The device, which was spotted by a Reuters employee, is said to integrate a front-facing camera at the top edge of the glass bezel surrounding the LCD.

The eyewitness account corroborates earlier leaks suggesting the tablet will integrate a front-facing camera for FaceTime calls, along with a second rear-facing camera in a configuration similar to the iPhone 4. An unnamed source suggests the final release model may integrate other features not included on the prototype spotted at the event.

Separate reports suggest the next iPad might integrate a higher resolution display, with a thinner housing and overall lighter build. Apple is expected to formally unveil an updated model sometime in the near future.

Sounds like the limit of your imagination

Herod if you want to avoid embarrassment, I suggest not opening your mouth.

When you are doing real work with your iPad, such as doing a site survey, snapping a photo to add to your documentation, is going to come in handy. Having a built-in camera is one less thing to carry.

That is one example of potential thousands of uses - but the only thing you can imagine is snapping the family photo. There is a whole world outside of your west virginia mountain home - go see some of it.

    Why News Corp?

I can't for the life of me figure out why Apple would team up with that nasty News Corp. A company who is the epitome of everything educated people loath about corporatepolitical agenda media.

It appears Apple is moving quickly to the dark side.
