LG video confirms dual-core chip in Optimus 3D

The Optimus 3D smartphone expected to be officially unveiled at the MWC show in Barcelona later this month has now showed up in a YouTube video (below) from LG itself. The teaser hints that the device will sport a dual-core chip, which confirms earlier leaks that it will run NVIDIA's Tegra 2 CPU. And while the handset in the video lacks the promised dual-lens camera on the rear that would enable 3D video and photo recording, it is believed LG might have edited it out on purpose to leave some mystery for the official reveal

A chance exists that the phone will be a more universal, 3G version of the Revolution shown at Verizon's 4G presentation last month.

The Optimus 3D also promises to project glasses-free 3D images from what is believed to be its 4.3-inch touchscreen. There should be a 3D-capable HDMI 1.4 output present along with DLNA support for media sharing. The front-facing camera is confirmed by this latest video as well. Whether it ships with Android 2.2 or 2.3 is unknown, but the older OS is more likely.

February 14 should mark the official debut of the handset at MWC where the final specs are to be revealed.
