Dell offers unlocked Venue for AT&T, T-Mobile

Dell Venue reaches US with unlocked model

Dell today brought the Venue to the US for the first time as an unlocked device. The all-touch Android 2.2 phone is reaching the US in versions with 3G both for AT&T's network as well as for T-Mobile. Both run Dell's custom, multi-screen Stage UI also found in larger form on the Streak 7.

Apart from the choice of 3G band, the Venue is the same in hardware and has a distinctive 4.1-inch AMOLED screen with curved glass. Either runs on a Snapdragon processor with 512MB of RAM as well as 1GB of built-in storage and a microSDHC slot for more. An eight-megapixel camera grabs photos.

The Venue ships on February 18 and will cost $500, though the unlocked price escapes the need for a contract and will let the phone work on outside carriers.
