HTC Desire 2 seen in clear photos

What's likely to become the HTC Desire 2 has been seen in a leak from Taiwan. The recently seen flagship is now known to match up with earlier renders and cosmetically resembles a smaller Desire HD or Thunderbolt, including a front camera. The Mobile01 poster didn't show it running but said it was using Android 2.2.1 with Sense, hinting that HTC might not be ready with 2.3.

What the phone will use is still somewhat unknown, but it's expected to have a 3.8-inch display and HSPA+ 3G to support live video chat. Some have suggested it might use the same 1GHz Snapdragon from its larger siblings, but also that it might use a new dual-core version.

The handset should be unveiled at Mobile World Congress on February 15 and will probably ship worldwide weeks later, although North America sometimes has to wait months more before it gets HTC devices. [via Engadget]
