Hitachi shows new media players for Japan

Hitachi has just introduced two new multimedia players for its home market of Japan in the form of the i.μ's HMP-S104 and HMP-V204. The former is a runner's player and is meant purely for music with a 128x64 display. It plugs into a USB port to load files onto 4GB of storage space.

The HMP-V204 gets a larger, two-inch, 176x220 color screen and the ability to display JPEG and BMP files. Storage is the same 4GB, but an FM tuner has been added.

Either player supports MP3 and WMA files.

The S104 will be available in white, black, pink and aqua and cost the equivalent of $49 in Japan, while the V204 will come in either black or white for an amount that translates to $61. They ship on February 14.
