Plextor to ship M2S SSDs in March with SATA III

Plextor has just announced its second-generation M2S-series solid state drives. The 2.5-inch internal drives will sport a 6Gbps SATA III interface that promises to bring 480MBps read speeds. Available in 64GB, 128GB and 256GB capacities, the drives have 128MB of DDR3 cache to keep information moving.

Each also complies with the TRIM command to keep the drive optimized and sports dynamic wear leveling to extend the useful lifespan. The drives are bundled with Acronis True Image software. A server-grade Marvell 88SS9174 control chip sits at the core of each SSD.

The M2S will arrive in the UK in March, though pricing hasn't yet been announced.
