Xperia Play due in the UK, exclusive at Rogers

The Xperia Play handset has been confirmed as coming to several carriers on Monday, including Orange, T-Mobile, O2 and Vodafone in the UK. In Canada, the phone will be exclusive to Rogers, according to MobileSyrup. Orange and T-Mobile UK have also confirmed they should have the PlayStation phone, has has O2, though no release date is known for Canada.

A Canadian product page for the handset has been launched, as has a Facebook page.

The phone will ship with Android 2.3, use a four-inch, 854x480 screen with slide-out PSP-style controls that include optical analog 'sticks' and two shoulder buttons. It will depend on a 1GHz Snapdragon CPU and get a five-megapixel camera. Prices remain unknown, but Sony Ericsson is expected to officially reveal the device at next week's Mobile World Congress show.
