New video highlights features, 3D, ports, design
The LG G-slate has made another brief appearance on the web with a run through of its main features and ports. Previously given the video teaser treatment by internet personality MysteryGuitarMan, the new video appears to be a video run through for carrier T-Mobile. The clip embedded below gives a quick overview of its main hardware features including its dual cameras on the rear for shooting video and photos in stereoscopic 3D.
Other features highlighted in the run through include its built in HDMI port and microUSB port. The bottom edge also incorporates connectors for a docking station. The 8.9-inch display with 3D playback capability looks promising and the device appears slim and much in the same design language as its smartphone counterpart, the LG Optimus 2X.
The Android 3.0 (Honeycomb) and NVIDIA Tegra 2 3D-powered device is slated to be released by the end of March. It forms a critical pillar of LG's Android-led smartphone and tablet comeback in 2011 after losing $226.3 million in the fall, due to a relatively small presence in the smartphone space in particular.
