Tam, Dorsey team up on credit card reader
Vivienne Tam, a fashion designer known to collaborate with electronics makers such as HP on special edition products in the past, has now teamed up with Twitter co-founder Jack Dorsey on a special edition of the Square reader. It will read credit cards when plugged into a compatible iPhone, iPad or Android-powered handset. It plugs into a standard 3.5mm headphone jack.
Dorsey also has some history with fashion, having gone to fashion school on a brief stint to learn how to make a pair of jeans.
The Tam limited-edition Square will be sold exclusively through Tam's website, priced at $10.
