Specs for upcoming Android handsets revealed

Preliminary, unofficial specs for a few upcoming Android handsets have been revealed, PocketNow found. Originating from online retailer Expansys, the spec sheets are for the HTC Desire HD2, the Samsung Galaxy S2, the HTC Desire 2 and HTC Wildfire 2. The Galaxy S2 will allegedly use a 1.2GHz dual-core Qualcomm MSM8260 CPU along with a 4.3-inch Super AMOLED Plus display.

Other leaked specs of the Galaxy S2 include an eight-megapixel camera and 1080p full HD video recording capability. A two-megapixel front-facing camera is onboard, as is an NFC module, HDMI output, HSPA+ 3G and DLNA plus hotspot support.

The Desire HD2 will reportedly share the same 1.2GHz Snapdragon and get a 4.3-inch, 540x960 display. A similar eight-megapixel camera with 1080p video will likewise be onboard. Both the Galaxy S 2 and Desire HD2 will have 512MB of RAM.

The Desire 2 will get a single-core 1GHz Snapdragon along with a 3.7-inch Super LCD screen. The five-megapixel camera will be able to record 720p videos. The Wildfire 2 will get a 600MHz MSM7227 Snapdragon and a 3.2-inch HVGA LCD. Its five-megapixel camera will be limited to 480p video recording.

Expansys is quick to point out that the specs are "nothing more than speculatively populated product holding pages, created and designed for internal use only" and does not have full details of these products.

When the devices launch hasn't been disclosed, but some or all of the dates are expected to be unveiled at Mobile World Congress next week.
