Netflix Watch Instantly appears on Samsung TVs

updated 07:45 pm EST, Sat February 12, 2011

Users can search directly from the device

Netflix is reportedly bringing its Watch Instantly interface to Samsung televisions that support Samsung Apps. Although the feature has yet to be officially announced by either company, an Engadget report suggests some users were already able to access the new UI after completing a firmware upgrade pushed to the devices.

The feature allows users to browse streaming content, which is organized into groups including new arrivals, genres and suggested titles. Following a recent feature change that affected all Netflix-capable devices aside from computers and mobile gadgets, Samsung TVs do not support the "add to DVD queue option" alongside the instant queue.

It remains unclear if Samsung is ready to bring the added functionality to all of its supported devices, or if the Netflix UI is still in beta testing.
