Kingston shows secure USB drives for enterprise

Kingston this week introduced new secure USB drives for business and enterprise customers with the DataTraveler 4000 and DataTraveler Vault – Privacy Managed. The former uses FIPS 140-2 Level 2 military-grade encryption for the entire cryptographic module as opposed to just the security processor like in some other drives. Later in the year, Kingston will bring out a centrally managed version of the drive.

The Privacy Managed DataTraveler offers more management of all USB activity. It uses SafeConsole server software from BlockMaster and allows for password control, device state management, file audit log and file restrictor options that control the types of files that are saved onto the drive.

The DT4000 is available in 2GB, 4GB, 8GB, and 16GB capacities, with prices starting at $75. The Privacy Managed drive will be soon available in capacities from 2GB to 32GB, though prices haven't yet been announced. [via SlashGear]
