Epic 4G, Zio from Sprint to get Froyo on Monday

The Samsung Epic 4G and Sanyo Zio at Sprint will both get the update to Android 2.2 on February 21. Officially, Sprint confirmed on Thursday that the Epic 4G will first get the over-the-air update, and will take four days to reach every user.

The Zio wwasn't yet official, but a source told BGR that Sanyo's full-touch phone would get the update. It also outlined what would be involved in the respective builds.

The Froyo update for the Epic 4G is dubbed as build EB13, or a later version than EA17 originally expected. It will bring improved Bluetooth device support, Bluetooth voice dialing, Flash Player 10.1, GPS enhancements, better OS performance and the ability to load apps onto the external memory card.

The Zio's update will be somewhat different. Named 2.200SP, it will bring Swype's on-screen keyboard, Sprint Zone 2.5.5, Sprint ID activation improvements and increased battery life. The update will unusually come in the form of three separate downloads.
