Nikon D5100 to ship soon as boxes spotted
NikonRumors has just received a leaked photo of what appear to be shipping boxes of the upcoming Nikon D5100 DSLR. The appearance of the image indicates the semi-experienced user's camera is ready to ship, though no specs are yet known. It is expected to arrive during this winter, however.
The D5000-replacement will slot in between the D3100 and D7000, so a sensor of more than 14 megapixels (D3100) but at or below 16.2 (D7000) is expected along with the ability to shoot 1080p HD video. Like the Canon 60D, the D5100 may ship with a swivel-out LCD screen, as Nikon lacks such a feature in its lineup of DSLRs outside of the outgoing D5000.
