Revamped flagship phone, Sony display
The HTC Desire S, just launched at the World Mobile Congress is already up for pre-order on the Amazon UK website. According to the posting the phone will be released on April 18 in the UK market. The new device is powered by a 1GHz single-core, but second generation Qualcomm Snapdragon chipset and will ship with Android 2.4.
Graphics performance from the paired Adreno 205 GPU is expected to be improved over the original HTC Desire, as its battery life as the new SoC is also more power efficient. It comes equipped with dual front and back cameras (5-megapixel) and centers on a Sony-manufactured SuperTFT 3.7-inch WVGA display. Build quality should be solid as its internals are encased in an all-aluminum unibody. It also comes with 1450mAh battery.
It is shipping in the UK for the equivalent of $680 off-contract. It will ship in the US this spring, but pricing has yet to be detailed.
