Indian Dell Venue Pros ship with NoDo software
The first significant Windows Phone 7 update is now claimed to be now shipping with the Dell Venue Pro, at least in India, WPCentral reported on Monday. The so-called NoDo update will bring with it the long promised copy and paste function, among other changes, and newly purchased Venue Pros in India supposedly have the feature built-in. The tipster said it works exactly as advertised and the same as in the developer emulator.
The update was originally believed to arrive on WP7 handsets on February 7, but the deadline was not met. Apart from copy and paste, a better web browser is expected, with HTML5 support and speed boosts.
Microsoft has confirmed that NoDo should officially arrive for most users in the first two weeks of March, but it hasn't given out clues that it might ship preloaded on some devices.
The company did confirm that users are getting a minor update early this week as preparation for NoDo. The patch focuses mostly on framework and will need either the latest version of the Zune app or Windows Phone 7 Connector for Mac. Carriers will have a mild amount of influence on the update and might vary the patch release schedule from network to network.
