Dell outs Android 2.2 for AT&T, Rogers Streak

Dell on Wednesday began sending out the over-the-air Android 2.2 update for the Streak 5 tablet sold through AT&T and Canadian provider Rogers. The update brings with it Flash support, Dell's Stage UI and support for apps that require Android 2.0 or later software. A native Twitter app is also preloaded, as is Skype.

Users who update will also get a choice of browsers, including Dolphin HD, Skyfire 3.2 or a beta build of Firefox.

Dell said it was appreciative of the patience owners of the Streak through Rogers and AT&T have shown. The wait has been especially long since the unlocked versions of the 5-inch tablet have been sold by Dell itself preloaded with Android 2.2 since November.
