Shipping Atrix 4G dock lacks multi-touch support

A user on the XDA Developers forum, theproskater, reports having purchased the dock for the Motorola Atrix 4G smartphone and being disappointed that multi-touch input doesn't work. This was a bit of a shock, as the demo model at the AT&T store had a fully functioning touchpad, enabling two-finger scrolling in Firefox. Despite a few other docks spotted with the more capable touchpad, Motorola has maintained it doesn't plan to add the feature to the device in the future.

The lack of multi-touch so far can't be attributed to a different software version. Motorola has responded by saying the feature is hardware-dependent, though the existence of a few models that work is proof otherwise.

Speculation has suggested the feature didn't work as well as expected, prompting Motorola to pull it.
