Corsair to show SATA 3 Force GT SSDs at CeBIT
Corsair on Thursday said it would show off its Force Series GT solid state drives to the CeBIT show in Germany in March. The drives will use a new SandForce memory controller, the SF-2000, that supports SATA 3 (6Gbps) natively. The upgrade allows the SSDs to reach read speeds as fast as 520MB per second and write speeds of up to 500MB per second, along with as much as 60,000 random write integer operations per second.
Thus far, Corsair's Force Series SSDs top out at 275MBps write and 285MBps read speeds thanks to their SATA 3Gbps interface.
The new GT drives are meant for enthusiasts who want the fastest speeds available. While prices are not yet available, the drives will begin shipping early this spring.
