HTC Droid Incredible 2 pops in Verizon system

Plans for a version of the HTC Incredible S to show in the US may have been effectively greenlit on Saturday through a sighting in Verizon's inventory system. An entry for an HTC63503, or "INCRD2," has surfaced that points directly to a Droid Incredible 2 in the future. Engadget's insider didn't have release clues, but devices often show when relatively close to an introduction.

The Incredible S is almost certainly the template for the Droid Incredible 2 since it shares the same visual design cues and basic focus. As such, it would likely get a four-inch LCD, an upgraded eight-megapixel camera and a second-generation 1GHz Snapdragon chip. Whether or not it would get the front 1.3-megapixel camera is less certain. Unless the Incredible 2 moves to 4G, the connection wouldn't be fast enough to practically support video chat or live streaming.

HTC is shipping the Incredible S internationally in the spring, and the possibility exists that Verizon might use the CTIA show in late March to show its own adaptation.
