All iPad channel inventory 'constrained,' report claims

Backs quick second-gen iPad launch

iPad channel inventory -- the stock available to retailers -- has completely evaporated, a report indicates. All models are now listed as "constrained," regardless of storage capacity or 3G support. Similarly, the timeframe for wholesale iPads is simply marked as "No ETA."

Some retailers tell 9to5Mac that the only iPad stock they have is what is on shelves, and that they could be sold out within a day or two. Apple is expected to announce a second-generation iPad at a March 2nd press event. Completely drained channel inventory may back the notion that Apple is planning a quick turnaround, possibly shipping new models as soon as this week.

    Well...

that seems to contradict then part of the previous article's statements that iPad 2 was behind schedule in delivery dates. Can't see Apple putting no iPads out for retail for over a month as it ramps up production for the new models.

I guess most don't pay attention.

    They've done it with iPhones.

Not when new products have yet to be announced. First time for anything, but I think this validates immediate shipping dates for iPad 2 (or relative to a couple of weeks).
