HTC Trophy seen live in Verizon garb

Any doubt of plans for the HTC Trophy at Verizon were removed early Monday after a sighting of the phone itself. Along with the telltale logo, the Windows Phone 7 device has a professionally made red wallpaper consistent with Verizon's favorite coloring. The Engadget source claimed the only hardware difference was the use of red highlights on the back.

Although not immediately in the photo, the phone is expected to be running the NoDo update, which brings copy-and-paste text among upgrades to performance. Microsoft's new firmware is believed necessary for CDMA hardware on WP7 and is known to be shipping with the HTC Arrive for Sprint.

Verizon is largely expected to ship the Trophy in late March, around the same time as the Arrive. Launch details like the price haven't been given out, but it may cost less than the $200 on contract Sprint is charging for the Arrive. The Trophy is HTC's most straightforward WP7 handset and uses a 3.8-inch, 480x800 screen as its only input but has a high quality aluminum shell. A 1GHz Snapdragon, a five-megapixel camera and 8GB of internal storage should carry over from the primarily Europe-focused original.
