Plans still unconfirmed
Several sources "close to the situation" are backing the idea that Apple CEO Steve Jobs will make an appearance at tomorrow's special press event, according to All Things Digital. The people reiterate disclaimers that Jobs' appearance is unconfirmed, but say that if he does go, he will at least briefly take to the stage. This would be alongside other Apple executives, such as Phil Schiller or Scott Forstall.
Health is central to matters, as Jobs is on an indefinite medical leave, most likely related to battling the effects of cancer. If Jobs shows with a gaunt appearance, he could potentially trigger an investor panic. If he appears relatively healthy, however, he could assuage investors and draw extra publicity to Apple products.
The focus of tomorrow's event is generally anticipated to be on a second-generation iPad. One source, however, suggests that Apple will place more emphasis on a free, expanded MobileMe, which is expected to serve as a "media locker" allowing remote access to iTunes content. The company will also likely preview iOS 5, which could go live in time for the next iPhone.

It would be great to see Steve...
I was thinking maybe he would be the one they call for the Facetime demo. LOL
