HTC Merge with CDMA, GSM to arrive at Verizon
The HTC Merge has shown up undergoing testing at the FCC. The listing confirms through an owner's manual that the phone is still on track for Verizon. During its initial unveiling, HTC was careful not to reveal carriers other than to promise a North American release.
The Merge will get both CDMA and GSM support for roaming capabilities in countries all over the world. The dual-band support marks a first for an HTC Android handset, with 2.2 preloaded in this case. The phone otherwise gets a 3.8-inch, 480x800 resolution screen and a five-megapixel camera with 720p video recording.
While exact ship dates are still not known, HTC said earlier that the device will arrive sometime this spring.
