RIM says PlayBook coming to the US in March

In an interview with Pocket-Lint, Research in Motion's UK Managing Director Steven Bates revealed the BlackBerry PlayBook will come to the European market in the second quarter of the year and maintained that it was still due for North America later this month. Exactly when during the spring it will arrive in Europe isn't known, but the UK will be one of the first countries to get it, perhaps as soon as April. Despite this, Bates hasn't hinted at what the device will cost, which remains unofficial.

"It’s end of Q1 for the US," Bates said. "Europe is Q2... The UK will be one of the early ones." The remarks contradict rumor from Wednesday that had the device arriving stateside on April 10.

A leak from about a month ago hints that the tablet might cost $500 for a 16GB, Wi-Fi-only version. The seven-inch PlayBook will support Adobe Flash 10.1, have dual HD-capable cameras and a 1GHz, dual-core processor as its main specs.
