Sprint may have Evo 3D, View and Nexus S 4G soon

A scoop on Sunday afternoon may have given clues to a major Sprint Android rollout at the CTIA phone expo late this month. The carrier is expected to have evolutions of a number of flagship Android devices that would include the Evo 3D, a likely sequel to the Evo 4G with 3D video capture and playback, Engadget heard. Another device, the Evo View, is believed to be a tablet and may be a customized version of the HTC Flyer shown just weeks ago.

The third device would be the Nexus S 4G. It would most likely be a direct port of the original to use Sprint's WiMAX network for fast data and video chat from the front camera as well as the CDMA network for voice. Given the name, it would keep the same curved AMOLED screen, 1GHz processor and five-megapixel rear camera as the original. It would nonetheless stand out as the first version of the Nexus S to run on CDMA and Sprint's first true reference Android phone.

A simultaneous debut for all three is probable, as Sprint has set aside an unprecedented 2.5 hours for a special event at the Orlando-based CTIA gathering.

Much of the launch strategy for the three devices isn't known, but Sprint only sometimes has devices ready to ship shortly after a CTIA demo. The Evo 4G didn't ship until June of last year, several weeks after it appeared at the trade show.

Was Hoping for Dual Core CPUs

Maybe EVO 3D will have it, but who knows. I'll pass on the NEXUS S however, poor battery life dooms it! http://www.anandtech.com/show/4191/motorola-xoom-review-first-honeycomb-tablet-arrives/14
