T-Mobile to get HTC Doubleshot, Nokia C7, 10GB 3G
A slew of leaks on Monday have tipped off T-Mobile's future device and data plans. One has mentioned a previously unknown HTC Doubleshot. Little is known about the device besides its coffee-inspired name, but TmoNews said it was an Android 2.3 phone.
A more conventional addition mentioned at the same time would be the Nokia C7. Nokia's mid-range Symbian^3 phone is reportedly slated to reach T-Mobile as the Tiger. It would still have the 3.5-inch AMOLED screen, eight-megapixel camera and 8GB of internal storage. The only known change so far would be the needed switch to native 3G.
Tiger phones could be shipping as soon as this month.
A third scoop has had T-Mobile adding a new data plan for very bandwidth-heavy users. An $80 Even More webConnect plan would have the same unlimited data plan as the $50 plan but would only bring in the possibility of throttling at 10GB instead of 5GB. Its price would match Verizon's 10GB plan but would be stronger by skipping overage fees.
The T-Mobile 10GB plan is expected to go live March 13 and should drop to $63 per month for those who also have a voice plan; the 5GB plan and the basic 200MB plan would drop to $40 and $24 per month under the same terms.
