CTIA finalist chart hints G2X and new LG phone

Clues as to the launches of a pair of important Android phones popped up late Monday in the CTIA's finalist chart for its E-Tech Awards. While virtually every device in the list is named, the phone category mentions two instance of "LG Mobile Phones" without the name of the device attached. One is almost certainly the T-Mobile G2X, a spin on the Optimus 2X with T-Mobile's 3G network.

The other isn't certain but could be a take on the Optimus 3D for another carrier. It may be Sprint's Evo 3D since it's the only known 3D-capable smartphone, although the carrier has usually reserved the Evo badge for HTC hardware.

LG has told Electronista it hasn't planned any special events for CTIA, which starts March 22, but it did hint at introductions attached to the Orlando-based phone show. [via PCMag]

Disclaimer: Electronista votes on the E-Tech Awards panel but does not have access to the category or to the details of what the LG devices would be.
