Jolicloud to release 1.2 soon, renamesi OS

France-based Jolicloud this week announced on its blog that some changes are in store. It now plans to release version 1.2 of its Jolicloud online desktop later this week. Also, the company's free operating system will be renamed to Joli OS to avoid confusion with the desktop.

Jolicloud has thus far been available as an add-on for the Chrome web browser only, but will soon be made to support Firefox 4, Safari 5 and the iPad through an experimental HTML5 port. A little later, Jolicloud may also show up for Android-based devices, bringing it to smartphones for the first tme.

More information and screenshots of the new Jolicloud are promised to come out later this week.
