ViewPad 10 boots Windows 7 and Android 1.6

ViewSonic has delivered the ViewPad 10, a dual-boot 10.1-inch tablet solution that runs both Android and Windows 7. The device centers on a large capacitive touchscreen display with a 1024x600 resolution with an LED backlight. An Intel Atom 1.66Ghz single-core processor paired with 2GB of DDR3 RAM powers the device.

From a storage standpoint there are two options. The 16GB SSD model runs Windows 7 Home Premium, while 32GB SSD equipped model runs Windows 7 Professional. An integrated SD slot offers up to an additional 32GB of memory. While it runs Android, this is limited to a customized version of Android 1.6.

Wireless connectivity is provided by Wi-Fi 802.11 (b/g/n) and Bluetooth 2.1 + EDR, while a 1.3-megapixel front-facing camera offers a video-conferencing capability.

The ViewSonic 10 with Windows 7 Home Premium and 16GB SSD is retailing for $599 while the 32GB SSD version with Windows 7 Professional is retailing for $679.
